Health Net Appoints Maurice Hebert Corporate Controller

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2005--Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT) today announced that, effective April 12, 2005, Maurice Hebert joined the company as corporate controller. Hebert assumes responsibility for all accounting, financial reporting, tax, financial planning, business planning and analysis, payroll and procurement. He will report to Health Net's chief financial officer, Buddy Piszel.

Hebert, 42, joins Health Net from Safeco Corporation where he served as senior vice president/controller and principal accounting officer. Previously, he spent a decade with AIG SunAmerica, most recently as vice president/controller - Life Insurance Companies. Prior to AIG SunAmerica, Hebert held audit positions with Rockwell International Corporation and Coopers & Lybrand, LLC.



Hebert earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University and is a certified public accountant.
